Malibu Scuba Repair is operated by owner Karim Hamza and general manager Alex Hartel — experienced technical divers and instructors certified to service a wide range of regulators and rebreathers. Karim’s hands-on experience at the DUI dry suit factory, and years of dry suit repair and modification, have made him one of the best dry suit experts in the industry.
We handle service and repair for a significant portion of the dive shops in Southern California, and are trusted by military and law enforcement teams including the LAPD, FBI and LAFD dive teams. If you take your scuba gear to a dive shop in Southern California, it is not unlikely they are sending it to us.
Every regulator service includes a 10-minute breathing cycle test to confirm the regulator performs exactly as the manufacturer specifies. We don’t just pressurise a regulator and leave it underwater for an hour — we monitor intermediate pressure and magnehelics throughout the final test. That is why we can guarantee our work on every piece of scuba gear that comes through the workshop.
